Dania Beach Casino (Dania Beach, FL) has a large steel support on the roof of the building. Being just under 2 miles from the ocean, the steel started to show signs of corrosion and the current paint was failing.
NoCo worked with the MTD (Installing Contractor) to highlight the benefits of using a self-healing coating system for superior corrosion protection of the structural steel. The casino wanted to ensure minimal ongoing maintenance on the structrure and maximize the service life of the steel structure - as a result, the opted to use AMP-UP 100 Self-Healing Primer with our AMP-UP Urethane ST Topcoat.
AMP-UP 100 Self-Healing Primer will provide extended service life to the steel through superior corrosion protection. Self-healing microcapsules embedded within the primer contain corrosion inhibitors and bonding agents that rupture upon damage to the coating. This process enables the primer to adhere to the substrate and greatly reduces future creep, the main form of coating failure. The primer was top coated with our AMP-UP Urethane ST - Safety Orange and high gloss finish.
The project was completed in 2023 with tremendous results and a satisfied client. The structural steel looks great and is well-protected against corrosion for years to come.
