The Miami Courthouse was undergoing a concrete restoration project. Large columns located in the basement of the building were due to be excavated and coated using a cementitous corrosion inhibitor.
As the columns are below the water table, the basement would flood unless pumps were used to keep water out for extended periods of time. This was causing scheduling and profitbaility issues for the installing contractor as the work was taking too long and the pumps were expensive to rent. Upon discovering AMP-UP RB's fast drying time, the contractor submitted for a product switch from the cementitous corrosion inhibitor, to AMP-UP RB.
NoCo submitted technical data to the engineer of record and AMP-UP RB was approved for use on the columns. This afforded the contractor to only rent the water pumps for installation and drying time of AMP-UP RB, a considerably shorter time period than with the previous product they were using. As a result, the column coating was completed quicker and pumps could be returned sooner, increasing both efficiency and profitability on the job.
